Shopify

The Infinite Audience app for Shopify enriches your store’s customer records in place and writes the results back as Shopify customer metafields — no export, no separate dashboard to check. Billing runs through Shopify’s own billing (App Pricing), not through the REST API billing described elsewhere in these docs.

Once connected, the app matches your Shopify customer records against the Infinite Audience identity graph and writes back a fixed, code-reviewed set of non-sensitive metafields — things like household income range or generational cohort, the same kind of attribute you’d see in the field catalog. Explicitly excluded, by policy, regardless of what the graph could return: sensitive demographic, political, health, religious, or orientation data; exact date of birth; precise location; and raw household-level attributes. The writeback list is deny-by-default — a new field has to be deliberately added, not just be available.

Only the minimum customer identity fields needed for matching are copied out of Shopify in the first place, and that copy is purged shortly after the enrichment writeback succeeds — it isn’t kept around as a separate dataset.

  1. Install the Infinite Audience app from the Shopify App Store (or via the install link we give you).
  2. Connect a platform organization — either create a new one, or link an existing Infinite Audience organization if your company already has one. This is the account that owns the enrichment relationship; it’s separate from your Shopify billing.
  3. Choose a Shopify plan. You’re sent to Shopify’s own plan-selection screen; Shopify returns you to the app afterward, and we verify the subscription before turning anything on.
  4. Once billing shows active, enrichment can be enabled for the store.

Shopify-originated enrichment is billed through Shopify App Pricing — plans, meters, and your current cycle’s usage and cost all live in Shopify’s own billing surfaces, not in an Infinite Audience invoice. If you also use the REST API directly (matching, exports, LiveRamp/Narrative activation) for the same organization, that usage is billed separately, the normal way described in Enrichment — the two billing paths don’t mix, and one organization can have both a native billing account and a Shopify billing account at the same time without conflict.

Enrichment reacts to changes in your Shopify customer records as they happen — it isn’t a promise of a periodic refresh cycle independent of your own data changing.
